Applications for the Documentary Film competitions organized within the scope of the International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival, which will be held for the 27th time between 10-13 June 2026, started today.

While the participation, which continues to increase every year, is expected to be intense this year, the awards to be given in the competitions have also been announced.

In the statement made by the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs of Safranbolu Municipality, it was stated that we will present this year in our festival where we aim to promote Safranbolu on national and international platforms, to contribute to the development of "Cultural Tourism" by processing the existing cultural riches of our country, and to ensure that documentary films get the value they deserve by introducing documentary films to the audience. The awards are as follows:

Best Film Award: 60,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette

NATIONAL FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION

Best Film Award: 125,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette
Jury Special Award: 75,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette

NATIONAL SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION

Best Film Award: 75,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette
Jury Special Award: 50,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette

CULTURAL HERITAGE AND CONSERVATION THEMED NATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION

Suha Arın Best Documentary Award: 75,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette

NATIONAL STUDENT DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION

Best Film Award: 50,000 TL + Golden Saffron Award Statuette
